Course Syllabus
Course Overview: Students will study literature, writing, and proofreading. This is a year long course. The objectives are consistent with the Oklahoma Priority Academic Student Skills. While taking this course, the student will enhance his or her communication skills.
Instructional Strategies: Teaching methods will include lecture, class discussion, group work, and individualized instruction as needed. A variety of instructional techniques will include use of visual aides such as Smart Board, and various multi-media presentations.
Student Learning Activities: Students will participate in class discussions, group discussions, individual and group projects, oral assignments, and written assignments. Students will participate in note taking and other study skills. Assignments covering the research process will also be included.
Student Assessment: Students will be assessed through the use of portfolios, graded daily assignments, both oral and written tests, graded reviews, and class participation. The grading scale is as follows:
A 100%-90%
B 89%-80%
C 79%-70%
D 69%60%
F 59% and below
Classroom Management: Students will be expected to follow the Classroom Code of Conduct.

4. Be friendly to fellow classmates.
